Oval Sapphire Pale Purple 1.06 Carats

A 1.06 carat oval pale purple sapphire from Tanga, Tanzania. This was a tough one to photograph / film as the camera was picking up too much color – the gem is pale (think a soft purplish hue – the image with the stone on a hand is truest to actual color). This one is a recut of a commercial gem. The pavilion was completely re-cut at better angles for light return, and the crown was mostly recut, with all facets receiving better polish and adjusted symmetry. It measures 6.91mm long, by 5.46mm wide, by 3.79mm deep.
